Getting near the middle

July's Book
Submitted by Natalie on Mon, 2007-07-09 23:18.
Sarah has picked the next book, it is A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. This is also the first author to have be chosen a second time so the comparison between both books should make for an interesting discussion. Have a good read and see you at the meeting.

Long goodbye
Submitted by Natalie on Sun, 2007-07-08 02:00.
The end is near! Don't worry, I'm not a doomsday predictor but am speaking of the end of Harry Potter series and the end of a long and joyful ride. It is bittersweet to anticipate this last book, The Deathly Hollows. On one hand there is the excitement that comes with every edition in the series. Opening the book is to visit with old friends and to travel magically back to Hogwarts and to Harry's world. Only this time, (this is where bitter part lies) there won't be anymore "new books". We won't be eagerly anticipating the next book. This is the end of the line for the books and also for some of the characters. Of course the big question of all, the one that crazy bookies taking bets on it the most obvious. Will Harry die? I have already been quite vocal to any who will listen that I believe he will. Actually what I have said is that if it was my book, (Don't I wish!) then i would have Harry die. Don't get ruffled all of you Harry lovers, it isn't out of meanness or spite that I would kill of a main and beloved character but out of love for Harry, (you heard me I love that character almost as much as I love Scarlett O'Hara), that I would end his life in a brave and courageous way much like he lived. Why would I do that? Simple. When reading all the volumes one theme repeats, Harry and his strong desire to be with his parents. Unlike other characters Harry has this strong tie to death and for him death, as long as he defeats Voldemort before hand, will the the only way to reunite with Lily and James Potter, the two people who loved Harry the most and whose Harry made powerful enough to defeat Voldemort. (Read the book if you don't know why!) Therefore while I would be sad if Ron or Hermione or Hagrid died, (out of the three my best guess would be Hagrid dying, though I wouldn't bet to much money on it) I would feel happy for Harry for his reunification with his parents. Now don't get me wrong, it will be a sad happiness, lets not forget that I have a daughter and several nieces who have seen the movies and adore Harry. It's going to be Bridge to Terrabithia all over again. For them a happier more peaceful ending would be appreciated. However the reader and "wannabe writer" feels a more profound ending is needed. Not to mention the closure that will be given if there isn't possibility for someone later to write further novels. Anyone who read Scarlett will understand what I mean. Closure will help us sad HP fans move on with our lives as we wonder "What will we read now". ??????????????//

So my mother's intuition was wrong!
Submitted by Natalie on Thu, 2007-06-14 15:40.
We are having a girl! I got my ultrasound today and expected to hear that we were having a boy. Then I saw the image of a butt and then the front and didn't see anything poking out!lol I said "It's a girl?" and the ultrasound lady said "Looks like" and we looked again and sure enough she's a girl! I have to tell you that I was a little sad, if you will, not because she is a girl but because I was wrong.lol Then I got to see her face in 3D and the first thing I thought was "She looks like Kennedy!" The next pic was her looking really pissed to be being messed with and of course now I know she is definitely one of my girls.lol So here's to letting go of the idea of having a son, of camouflage, and of all things Ninja and hello to Pink and Princess!

This might give you the creeps!
Submitted by Natalie on Mon, 2007-05-28 20:23.
So yesterday I got the girls in bed and decided that I was going to take a bath. Shane is working at his desk and Fred is not here, all is calm and peaceful. I noticed that there were two rolls of tp on the sink, seeing that I am the only one who will ever put the rolls on the holder. I go to grab a roll and got the scare of my life A GRANDDADDY LONGLEG!!!!!!!! Needless to say that it scared the crap out of me! (no pun intended) Luckily there is another roll so I hurry and finish what I am doing so I can get away from it. Now I know that they aren't dangerous and all that jazz but still I am chicken. Of course once safely away from the spider I know what I have to do. Quickly and quietly I go back to the bedroom to get Shane.
"Shane, please come quick"
"What?" he replies following me to the bathroom
"Sit on the toilet" which he finally does after prodding
"Now grab for the tp" and then he does and jumps.lo

Then we try to get it out of the house but both of us are creeped out by the whole incident and in the end someone lost their life. Shane is still with us so you figure it out.

Moral of the story....Always make sure you look before you grab and keep two rolls handy.

The Shadow
Submitted by Natalie on Tue, 2007-05-22 19:45.
Slowly over that last year we have come to see a shadow living amongst us. This shadow comes in the form a little girl and has blue eyes and curly hair. She walks in the steps of Ava and has learned from her how to be. I had an eerie deja vu today as the shadow put on a backpack and with her small voice "Bye mom", blew a kiss to me and stood up. For a second I saw two girls, one of her and the other a few years back of Ava with the same backpack pretending to be off to school. This is why I am thankful that I had two girls. Although years apart they are so close they could be twins, with luck they will continue to maintain that spirit. I have to admit that the idea of having another girl is kinda sweet so that the Shadow will become the tree for a new shadow. Makes life happy doesn't it?

Nine Years!
Submitted by Natalie on Sun, 2007-05-20 01:44.
Tomorrow Shane and I will celebrate nine years of marriage. In some ways I am amazed at how quickly the years have passed and then again it also seems like we have always been married. We spent the day spending time with our girls, and we had a great time. We went to breakfast and actually had a nice good waitress. Then we parked at the bottom of Nob Hill and did some window shopping. When Shane and I first dated, and after we were married we used to walk along those stores almost everyday. Now we drive by and remember going to the Lobo for cheap dates, horrible presented movies and we miss it so much. We looked in the Lobo today and all the ambiance is gone and replaced with Nob Hill snottiness. Most stores we just looked at but we did go into the Spy Shop. The guy tried hard to sell us some stuff but the closest thing we thought about was the license plate spray to avoid red lights. Another stop was Birdland for Lava Lamps but no luck. Eventually we came home and later celebrated by having a BBQ with the girls and Fred. With luck the next nine years will be as pleasant even if by then the girls will be hitting the teenage years.lol

Tiny feelings!
Submitted by Natalie on Thu, 2007-05-17 02:29.
The baby has been moving around for a few days now and is pretty active. I am enjoying this part of the pregnancy for several reasons; first I only puke about once a day, usually in the mornings. That is a huge step for me, I can live with that no problem. Second every little movement tells me he (I only think he is a boy but am not sure.) Lastly this has got to be that last pregnancy so I am trying to pay closer attention to it, so I can remember it. Now if I get pregnant you'll know that is Shane's fault and didn't follow through with his promise, (you know what I mean!) So here is to the last pregnancy and no we won't be trying for a boy his this one is a girl! (You would be surprised that I get that, are people crazy?)

We finally got a winner!
Submitted by Natalie on Tue, 2007-05-15 23:46.
I don't know about you all but I think that this month's book choice has been the best yet! The odd thing for me is that I refused to watch the movie, I mean who wants to watch something about hookers? That is until I read the book and now I am totally hooked and can't wait to watch the movie. I won't say much more about it until we have our meeting but I finished the book last night and can't wait to talk about it so I am gonna harass Heather for a meeting date and soon!

If you haven't read it you are missing out!

May's Book Choice
Submitted by Natalie on Sun, 2007-05-06 02:04.
Hello all!

Thanks to Heather for choosing Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden for the May book club choice. This will be an interesting choice since many of the club members have seen the movie and I am sure will be comparing the book to it. As always Lanette will send the e-vite once Heather has figured out the date and meeting place but she does think it will be late this month or early next. Keep your eyes posted!

From what I hear from everyone May is stacking up to be a big month so let us know if you know of any dates that will be a huge conflict or anything that arises.

Good luck reading about prostitution!

April's Book Choice
Submitted by Natalie on Tue, 2007-04-03 03:55.
Sharon has picked our new book for April. The book is The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards. This is an excellent choice for a book, I read it already and am happy to read it again. I promise this will be a book we will all love and look forward to talking about.
http://us.penguingroup.com/nf/Book/BookDisplay/0,,9780143037149,00.html

At the last meeting we discussed Running with Scissors. I know a lot of you couldn't finish the book and I understand how hard it was to read. I hope you will give this book a chance because it is a touching and easy to read novel.

Sharon will pick the date and place and will get the info to Lanette when she knows.

Have a great Easter weekend!

We're on to baby number 3! I had a suspicion but took a test yesterday and found the line to be there. At this point it is really early, around 4 3/4 to 5 weeks and we are being cautiously optimistic. If all goes well the baby will be born the first of November. Shane was surprised but relatively happy. Ava is of course happy and Kennedy has little idea of what is going on. lol Hopefully all will go well so keep your fingers crossed for us.

Exhausted but things are looking up.
Submitted by Natalie on Tue, 2007-02-20 06:48.
Who ever said exercising was suppose to make you feel less tired? It must have been a doctor who read about exercising, spoke with other docs who heard from their friends who heard about it in med school. I am tired! This has been a tiring week to say the least. When did February become such a busy month? I feel like I have been on the go everyday this week. Run here, do this, go here. Enough already! I have decided that I need a wife or the equivalent. Now I have Shane but he already has a second marriage going, to his work. I can't complain about that. No I have decided that I am going to take advantage of situation that has presented itself. Fred, (you know him he is the little kid that some of you dressed up like a Ninja Turtle for) is moving up here soon and I have decided he is going to be my new "wife." Yeah I said it I am going to "marry up my brother." It's going to be nice to have someone I can boss around who will actually mind me. Ava has quickly become her father's daughter and is no long afraid of me. Sure she still minds but I need someone who I can really threaten, someone who is dependent upon me for shelter and such and who knows how scary the world is out there. Man I can't wait. Here's to having a servant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Break Up.
Submitted by Natalie on Wed, 2007-02-07 20:22.
Remember your first breakup? Remember how you thought the world was ending and it was for you. The wonderment of how people could still function and live a normal life even though your relationship was over? And the Drama? You can't forget the drama! My first official break up was with Shane. There were a few little things before our break up; the time I had to tell Loal that I didn't want to date him anymore,(we actually went on a few "dates" which never happens in HS. HS kids automatically become a "couple", we were not.) Then there was JJ, another person I hung out with but we didn't break up we just never saw each other again, but there wasn't a fight, just and ending.(He did call me on my 21st b-day which is more than I can say for some people.(JK) Then there was Shane and the first official break up. We had little incidents before but the big one was summer of "97", and I never thought I would make it through that summer. You might be wondering why am I thinking about this now, it's been 10 years almost time to move on and you are right. Obviously I did move one, with him in fact and we are getting ready to celebrate 9 years of marriage which, for the most part, has been wonderful and (with the exception of a week) break free. Then the phone rang this weekend and it all came back. It was Fred, my baby brother who is a month shy of nineteen. His girlfriend just broke his heart and he needed someone to talk too. We spent time with him this weekend trying to help him take his mind off the situation. I realized something this weekend, actually a few things. First, breaking up in like child birth. You might forget how bad the pain was but you don't forget that it was there. Second, for "young couples" in love today breaking up is way more complicated. Let me explain. Ten years ago during my BU I only had three resources to contact Shane; by phone( and I mean a landline), by writing a letter on paper and mailing it, and through mutual friends. All of these options are like horrible temptations when you are in the middle of a BU. When you are still in love with someone the desire to call them, to hear their voice it the strongest and the worst one. I can't think of a time when this is a smart idea, can you? Writing a letter also proved to be unwise and yet you did it when you couldn't speak to the person. And who among us didn't try to find out information from friends, hoping to hear how bad the other person is doing but never quite hearing what you want to hear. For the kids today there are so many more complications. E-mail, Text messaging, cell phones and for some the internet. Fred, like many young adults his age has access to all of the above and I think his has made this experience ten times worse. To begin he never his without his cellphone, meaning never without his access to her. His phone is like and evil tool, the constant reminder of what he has lost. Pictures of her are on his phone. Every ring he jump to see if she is calling. In "our time" we couldn't take the phone with us unless we were rich like Zach Morris and had the big time phone in our backpack. As we did not have cellphone neither did we have text messages. The text message is the fuel of the BU. Because it is almost instantaneous it is as bad a phone conversation, you read the response and rapidly send one back without having the time to really think about what you are writing, and yet since you are not actually speaking you are not so inhibited. Then comes the next disaster waiting to happen, My Space or any other crap on the internet. It's like having an add taken out in the school newspaper saying "Hey I broke up with so and so and now I am single." My advice has been "Don't look at her site, say away completely!" Of course this advice was not taken and has caused more drama. Not like a young girl needs more ways to be dramatic! Of course I am here to help Fred and my advice has been stay out of contact with her, give her space and tell her to do the same, but I guess it is easier said than done. It's hard to see this happen to him though, he is such a great kid! He is sweet, kind, caring and devoted. Maybe a little dramatic but then again I guess we all were, and maybe still are.

Boys!
Submitted by Natalie on Sun, 2007-01-21 06:08.
I had to blog this! Some of you will understand why if you read your e-mail. I still love NKOTB. I thought I would marry Donny Whalberg. Ask April what I did to our room on night after crying about how much I loved him! (Hitting puberty was hard with the hormone thing) Anyway tonight Ava was watching High School Musical and I remarked to Shane that I would have totally been in love with the boy on the movie had I been Ava's age, in fact at my age I still like him a little. LOL Then I took a trip down memory lane and I what did I see but You Tube who offered up some video and I tell you all the love came back. Of course Ava also like the boys and tried to like Donny but I told her she could like Joey. Then I kick her off my lap so I could concentrate on the video. I also commanded Shane to try to record it onto cd which he says isn't "possible" but I know that is garbage, he just wants me to be once again separated from the magic that is NKOTB. No matter I still have the link.

Rock on NKOTB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More and more

Craigslist
Submitted by Natalie on Fri, 2007-01-19 00:28.
I love Craigslist! I check it out almost everyday to see what interesting junk people are trying to get rid of. But my most favorite thing to do on Craigslist is to look at the different cities in different countries and look at the apartment listings. It is really neat to see what an apartment looks like in Paris compared to Nebraska. The ones that blow your mind are from China, the pictures are mostly of the building and not the actual apartment. Check it out sometime and see what I mean, it is a fun game to do when you are bored or are waiting to download something. I have to tell you about the funniest posting I saw today. Under the furniture section today was listed (I am serious) a sex swing.lol I couldn't believe it. First it was obvious that the moderator didn't catch the posting because they have a separate section for it under erotic stuff which I assume would be the place you would list that type of thing. Second to putting it under furniture? I mean at the very least you would put it under general I would think? A swing isn't furniture, I don't know anyone who has a swing in their house that they sit on? Ok, so I clicked on the listing to see if it was a joke and (this is the funniest part), they made sure to list it as Clean and Disinfected. Now I am thinking, if you are so cheap that you have to buy a second hand sex swing then most likely you aren't going to be so worried about the clean and disinfected part. Not that the swing was cheap, I believe it was listed at $100.00 which seems to me to be an expensive toy (I mean piece of used furniture). There wasn't a posted picture of it, which is too bad because most people would like to see the items before they buy them, I know that I wouldn't pay $100.00 for something I didn't see first, even if it was disinfected. I did get back on the site later, (did I mention I am searching for the perfect reading chair, one that is also clean and disinfected?), but the posting was gone or perhaps it was already sold to your neighbor or friendly librarian. Who knows.lol Rock on Craigslist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How the world has changed!
Submitted by Natalie on Thu, 2007-01-18 01:53.
I am watching Countdown and just saw the video of HS girls beating the crap out of another young girl and I am stunned. Why does this keep happening? Where the heck are these kids parents? I remember the "fight" between the one popular girl at GHS and another. I am so freaking old I cannot remember their names right now, but I remember one decided to wear a braid so she couldn't get her hair pulled. The reason I remember the fight is because they were meeting at FM City which was a cool name for a dumphole. Anyway that is the one fight that comes to mind when I look back nostalgically on yesteryear. There had to be more but not with the cool kids I hung with.:) I can only hope that the punishment for these girls is severe, and think that their parents also need some help getting their kids in line.

One a lighter note it is also reported that Brittney Spears is not pregnant again and all I can say is "Thank Goodness." Now I can sleep at night.

Taking the time.
Submitted by Natalie on Wed, 2007-01-17 22:16.
I am having a little eye opening moment right now and thought it might clear my mind to write it down. My kid is 19 months today and I am blown away with it. This little baby has such a big personality. Never have I met a kid who is such a comedian. Her eye rolling is hilarious and her timing right on. I feel like everyday I rush rush rush to do this or that and am missing out on my time with her. And I can't even begin to describe Ava and how she has grown. Only weeks ago she had to stand on the bathroom scale to see into the mirror and suddenly I realized she doesn't need it anymore. Also she formed a band, (with her imaginary friends) and wrote a song titled "Your not the boss of me." Total clue as to how she thinks.lol Where does the time go? So now I am going to end this session because the kid woke up and I am going to take my time to play with her before I pick up Ava.

And speaking of time going by, Misty turned 30 today!!!!!!!!!!!
Send her an e-mail to let her know she is really old.

Where does the time go?
Submitted by Natalie on Thu, 2007-01-11 18:20.
It seems like time is moving so quick! Kennedy is getting so big! Ava who can't wait to be a teenager have become a little lady without me looking. It amazes me that Christmas has come and gone and that Nov. has only been 2 months ago when it feels like forever ago. This staying at home gig has got my sense of time all tangled. Ava asked me the date and I wasn't sure what it was. lol Don't really know where my head is right now but with luck I will get it back soon. Sorry to all people I talked with yesterday and had to hang up on. Cooking and babies don't mix and Kennedy loves to be near the stove. She is my wild child. Hope to be back into the groove of things soon, but then maybe this is the groove and I am letting it get by? To much thinking, not enough coffee.

A little stir crazy!
Submitted by Natalie on Wed, 2007-01-03 22:42.
I'm all for snow, I love it and look forward to seeing it. It would have been nice to have a white Christmas but then again it was nice not to have to travel in it. But now the snow is getting to be a real pain. I almost couldn't get up the driveway this morning. Now I know you might be thinking "Why don't you shovel it", well that is kinda hard for Shane to do with a swiffer mop, seeing as how we don't have a snow shovel. When you live in an apartment you don't really think you need that kinda thing. I also don't have an axe, a hoe, a chainsaw or a lawnmower. So to get back the point the snow. I did get some good snow boots. They are gray and pink and keep my feet warm when I take the trash out. Too bad I can't wear them to bed, where my feet are the coldest and Shane gets mad about when they touch his leg. He is kinda a baby like that. Speaking of which they are cold now so I am ending this so I can put on my shoes and stomp around the house and wait for the sun to hurry and do it's job.

Let me tell you about my day!
Submitted by Natalie on Fri, 2006-12-29 03:55.
Let me tell you about my day! First I was dog tired, the girls and I had to pick Shane up from work at Midnight so I was exhausted when I finally woke up. The morning was normal enough, got several caffeine fixes and began my day. Did the morning cleaning, and scrubbing and got the house it tip top day, I thought "Wow, today is going well", I shouldn't knocked on wood. For lunch, (now this is an important tib bit of information), we had fish sticks and corn, for breakfast an egg and toast. Nothing out to the ordinary there. So the girls and I decide to take a nap, which we did and it was lovely,(another addiction I have, napping). My dad showed up for the day and after a game or two of Diego Dominoes it was on to Barnes and Noble. Ok here is where the great day goes to pot. So we are at Barnes and Noble and Dad gets his book and I make the mistake of suggesting Starbucks. I wanted to buy the coffee so I suggest he take the girls and sit at one of the tables. Well it was a foggy day, cold and dreary so everyone who's anyone was buying coffee there, and it took a long, long time for our Eggnog Lattes, (also important to note). Finally they are done and I take them to the table where my girls are with my dad and I can tell from his look that Kennedy, the naughtiest girl alive, gave him hell. I was right and so I suggest we leave. As we get up to leave Ava, the clumsiest girl alive spill my eggnog latte on the floor and that is when it began. So I am frantically looking for napkins or something to clean up the floor, I knew the people behind the counter couldn't do me any good, there was only two of them and they looked panicked at the line which was demanding their overpriced, oh so good coffee. So I get it cleaned up and Dad says he will go to the front to buy the book. I get Kennedy's jacket on, which was a task all onto it's own when I hear the noise no parent wants to hear, especially when they are in public, the gagging sound. Yep that right Kennedy hurled in Barnes and Nobles, right in front of everyone, and let's just say that if the sound didn't get them the smell did. It was so gross, and of course I didn't have anything to clean her up with, much less the floor. I found a few napkins on the table, did the best I could and got the heck out of there before people began to walk through the mess. Let me tell you it was more embarrassing than two nights ago when Kennedy did a job in her diaper at Target and I couldn't get her out of the store without some guy wondering what we feed the kid. (True story, True comment!) So back to the vomit, I finally got her to the car, which I was freaking out in cause I knew she wasn't done and was silently praying that we could make it home without her upchucking on the carpet of my parent's van. Of course she did again, luckily for dad only on herself and the car seat. Meanwhile I still stink like throw up and I began to realize how much eggnog smells like it as well. By the time we got home I wanted to hurl myself, but like any good mom would I dumped the kid in the bath and washed out her car seat. Now the moral of the story is don't let your kid eat whole kernels of corn if she is not gonna chew them and don't order an Eggnog latte cause it's gonna smell like puke!

How great life could be!
Submitted by Natalie on Wed, 2006-12-27 21:18.
How great life could be if all humanity treated each other like family. Let me give you an example, I love to sing. I don't sing well, I cannot carry a tune and I know it and accept it. I have been told that I started off life being able to sing somewhat, but as I grew older my talent quickly went down the toilet, (don't worry I still have my good looks and quick wit), but instead of being encourage to sing I was told to "Please stop that racket you're making the baby cry!" But now I am encourage to sing by my girls! Ava loves it, she actually request song from me! It is a truly awesome feeling to have her look up to me as a "good singer." Don't get me wrong part of me is wondering if she might be a tad deaf but still I love that to her I am amazing. So the next time you hear a bad singer belting a tune out in line or in Target than instead of cringing or making a rude comment instead wait until they are finished, clap and request an encore. You just might make their day, like Ava makes mine.

Last minute shopping is the pits and yet, when it is all said and done it is kind of a bragging right, "I got the last doll house bathroom", or "I found the perfect gift for Shane at the last minute on Christmas Eve." Then there is the last minute moment when your six year old hears the Elmo "Lets make a lot of noise" vacuum that you so carefully hid in the closet but when bumped by other toys in the trunk of the car announced "Hey I am a Santa present for your kid sister" and you (not wanting her Christmas to be ruined with the realization that her parents are liars) quickly call your mom to switch presents and she agrees, and for the moment it looks like you are going to pull off another lie to your child, similar to the lie you told her years ago when she saw the doll house you bought her and you told her it was for your niece and then thinking she would forget you gave it to her from Santa, and then a year later she remembers all of these lies and confronts you with the truth and you lie again, only this time your try to convince her that she was mistaken and therefore crazy. So you get to Grants and the kids are suppose to be asleep but then the cousins show up and Bambpa gets them riled up, meanwhile you are in the bedroom wrapping the hundred presents your mom has, plus your Santa presents and your back is hurting and you are tired and you realize that you have to get all the presents wrapped and put under the tree including the Santa presents hid in the laundry room in order to clear the bed so people can sleep then you see what Grandma has planned for the stocking; sugar, sugar, sugar! And you know that Christmas day is gonna be one long crazy kid fest and you wonder what you can use to "safely" drug the kids so they will sleep until noon. Christmas morning comes like a blur and wrapping paper is flying and secretly you are bugged with how quick the wrapping comes off since it sure didn't go on that quick and the kids are like coffee addicts at Starbucks and it all is worth the hustle and bustle of shopping. Then the clean up comes and you are pretty happy because your sister has to go to her home for a while and she takes all the kids except your baby, who passes out in the bedroom. Dinner is served, all of your family is together and to quote from "A Christmas Story" all is right with the world. Then you come home and you look at your bank balance and you begin to cry! Happy New Year to all!!

Well j.K. Rowling is giving us a teaser. The new Harry Potter book title was just announced, it will be titled Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. No date yet as to when we will get to read this book. I guess now I know who the Star Trek fans felt waiting for their trilogy to be finished. As for me I know that I will be a little sad to read the last page in of the last book. Anyway click here or paste for the announcement. (Shane has to show me how to link, I am such a geek in the bad sense.)

A lot at once

My gorgeous girls!
Submitted by Natalie on Thu, 2006-12-21 05:26.
I have to take a moment to write about my girls, Ava and Kenendy. They are snuggled down in front of the tv and are being so sweet to each other. They really are good together. Kennedy just gave Ava a kiss and hug, just for being her sister. I hope this last through out their childhood. Ava likes her role as the big sis, she takes pride in telling me what Kennedy wants and/or needs. Kennedy I think understand Ava better than Shane or I and responds to Ava better than to Shane or I. I love my girls, they rock!

The first from the old

Why my husband rocks!
Submitted by Natalie on Mon, 2006-12-11 04:27.
Thanks for checking out my my new website. I won't be using the blog page anymore since Shane worked so hard to make me this site, which I must say is awesome! Eventually I will switch over the previous blogs I made, just so I have them. Give me a few days to get this site really going, but the books will each have their own forum, so that we can discuss them online with people who aren't in town, so tell people you know what book to read so we can get some great discussions. Didn't Shane do a kickbutt job! I worked so hard on this, ( I think he must like me). So thanks to Shane, my awesome ninja husband, you rock!

All I want for Christmas...

I am on a quest for a Kitchen aid Standing Mixer. Let me restate that, a bargain price Kitchen aid. I don't want to pay $299.00, I don't even want to pay $200.00 I want to pay less! So I am now on the E-bay wagon and I keep getting kicked off! I realize that I need to quit getting on the website or I am gonna develop an addiction, I am headed for "My name is Natalie and I am an e-bay addict". I did win an auction one time, many years ago. I thought it would be easy but noooooooo. This is why it is not a good idea to have the Internet, to easy to get addicted to crap. Then again I have posted two blog in the last 24 hours. UGGGH "My name is Natalie and I am a blog addict" I think I need to get a cup of coffee, (another wonderful addiction) and get myself to cleaning my home. Anyway let me get back to my topic, my quest for a kitchen aid. Buying a new one is a big decision, almost like buying a new car. You have to pick the color and that is not an easy decision if you think about it. Do you want a new fad color? Remember when teal was cool, I do! I wore teal for a prom dress!lol Now there are so many colors, like blue and red and orange and sliver, etc... But what about in 5 years when your kitchen doesn't match the pink kitchen aid that you picked, what then? Do you get a fancy decal, like the flame decal? (I highly suggest you not buy a flame decal for a pink kitchen aid). My answer is this, pick the brown kitchen aid. Brown is cool! Brown goes with most kitchens, it matches stuff you find in the kitchen like brown sugar, chocolate pudding, and most kinds of meant when it is cooked. Brown also is the new pink, or at least it used to be, (I am not good at what is what). Brown also will go with the flame decal, which your husband will think is cool and then maybe he will want to cook more. So I guess i have decided that Brown rocks! E-bay bites! I rock! Teal used to rock! And most important pink and flames don't belong together. Also we learn that Natalie get obsessed with most anything! ( Especially with being awesome)

Christmas Obession

Ever watch the challenges on the Food Network? I am fascinated by that show, so much that I am online doing Gingerbread House research so that I can build a kick ass gingerbread house! For those who don't watch the show they have people compete to build stuff out of edible ingredients. Sometimes the contestants are professional, mainly pastry chefs, but many times the contestants are regular people who like to build with food. For example one challenge was the wedding cake challenge, they object was to make a wedding cake that is representative of a wedding dress. Some cake were ok, nice looking but not creative. Others were amazing, how out of the box that people think. Anyway I am fixated on the Gingerbread challenge. The one I watch was so cool! I have a cousin who makes Gingerbread houses every year and I always wanted to do one with my parents but that never happened. April had to do one for school and didn't like it. I am not dissuade, I am convinced that I can. So if the next time you see me and there is a goop of white junk in my head, and maybe a gingerbread house or a few candies stuck on myself just look the other way.
